Monterey & the Aquarium
We took a day to re-visit the Monterey Aquarium since it's an easy drive from the Bay area, and a favorite place.
The Kelp Forest
The hemispherical window where you can lean in and feel as if you're in the water...
Two divers and two water surface reflections. They're comin' for ya.
That evening we had a great meal at the Fish Hopper, right on the water, or over it on stilts in this case. Last visit the food was excellent and it was the same this time.

It was neat watching pelicans flying under the floor.
The Otter feeding time is very popular. To give them some exercise, replacing their natural efforts in searching for food, the otters are given tubes full of ice and frozen seafood. They need to twist and bang them energetically to get the morsels out. It's quite a show.
Click here for a short video of their efforts banging on the glass.

If you listen carefully to the soundtrack... a little girl hears the knocking and says to her mother...
"Mommy  Open the door  Mommy!"
Lo and Behold, there's the cruise ship we saw yesterday steaming under the Golden Gate Bridge!
The next morning we were on the plane home. The flights were basically good, and we look forward to getting through the rain in Chicago, and getting home. If you're thinking of a place to visit, consider some of the sites you've seen in this little report. Happy Hiking!
